          vs

Arsenal jump out to an early lead and this time manage to hold on for all three points. 2-0 is the final in North London...

Kudos!

2-1 win for Arsenal as they get back on track after some disappointing results.

The only outcome that is acceptable to all of us Gunners is that we pick up the three points at stake. If anything goes wrong in this match..........

Adebayor has served his suspension and should start upfront with van Persie...

I loved seeing Diaby in CM again, hes fast becoming one of my favourite players.

But leaving my favourite player and most talented player in the country (as agreed by the commentators when we played Villa) on the bench was a bit too risky for my liking. Although its good that The Great RVP got a rest this by no means justifies his absense given how poor we were going forward.

I loved the way we got the result today because it was ugly. We stuck to our principles, we played through the centre first but then resorted to ugly to get the result. 3 points in the bag.

The way we wasted time in the corner in the end was masterful. I can't remember that last time I've ever seen an Arsenal team do that and Nasri was a little magician. I swear he alone wasted a good 3 minutes and then nearly nicked a goal by muppeting 4 Pompey defenders.

Don't know the situation with Song but I want to see him and Diaby in CM together with RVP and Ade up front.

It was a little harsh on Eboue to sub him, he was running everywhere. I was screaming at the TV "Bender off! Van Persie ON!".

Hearing the crowd scream The RVP's name for 40 minutes in the second half was fantastic. It was madness not using him.

Good to see Gallas grab a goal, also to see so many players run up and hug him. Hopefully he'll stay until the summer.

My only prayer is that Bender is sold in this window, I'm so so so sick of him and hate seeing him in an Arsenal shirt. Bender out, Babel in (he wants out of Liverpool afterall, even handed in a request to go on loan to Ajax). I think Babel is great.

The one thing that our trip to Aston Villa highlighted (AGAIN!) is our weak centre. Losing Djourou in the warm-up didn't help and had we had him I'm convinced we would have walked away with 3 points and a lot more possession in the first half, but we need a second big CB. Chiellini would be a dream, I have a gut feeling we'll get Distin.

It was a gutsy performance from the Gunners today and your absolutely right when you state that Nasri is a magician. Bendtner isn't Arsenal material but was better than Adebayor who missed a couple of good opportunities.

Gallas has a knack for bagging some crucial late goals but it must be said that Calamity James was at it again today...

For the first time in a long while Fever, I agreed with Wenger's decision to give RVP a breather. What I do not understand is keeping Adebayor on for so long seeing he wasn't going to score even if all the opposing players left the field for him! If he brought Vela back from Spain because he trusts him, then we should start giving him the opportunity to shine. While Nick Bendtner wasn't exactly sparkling this evening; he contributed more than Adebayor. Still, it was a good three points in the bag and I hope we pick up our season from this.

in my opinion, We played like old arsenal after a long time. (against Chelsea) I was really happy to see us playing pure arsenal style with most of the possesion and spending most of the match in opponents half

Nasri was amazing, a true magician. He played as a striker, tracked back up to almunia, played fabregas' role, and as a winger.

Diaby is getting better with each game and Denilson is finnaly proving out to be a good player.

Bendtner and adebayor flopped but i think bendtner atleast ran, unlike adebayor.

Crowd shouting RVP's name was amazing but Wenger asnwered to that question of not bringing R.V.P out

Arsenal.com

"""""On Robin van Persie's absence...
"I took the decision not to start him because he was on the edge because he gave absolutely everything on Friday. I didn’t want to take a gamble to bring him on because in cold weather like that he would need a long warm-up and I believe it would not have been alright." """""

Vela was the bright spark in our final moment, him with ramsey and nasri were doing great with the ball. (vela actually held the ball more than adebayor i think lol)

Arsenal should continue with their winning and hope that aston villa loses tomorow so we are back on track.

Kudos!
